Knowledge of electric bikes

1.What is PAS?
PAS, the full name is pedal assistant system.
There is no throttle with it and pedaling  must be required. Under the work of intelligent torque sensor, only when the rider is pedaling could the engine work and then the physical effort is minimum. As this "Pedaling-Electric assist"(PedElec) mode won't deliver motor power unless it senses you are pedaling, which is a combination of regular "human power" and "electric power", electric bikes with PAS are the hot seller. People like this kind of "smart assist power" which kicks in when you pedal up and then you will feel that it's like someone pushing you along! This kind of hybrid-powered vehicles could save much muscular effort and usually has a longer travelling distance.(Usually we call it PAS or PedElec mode)

2. Are hub motors good for climbing hills?
The motors on this website will give assistance going up hills but you may have to pedal also. The 36V models have strong torque and are very good hill climbers! Our axial flux motor is up to 98% efficient and will give assistance at all speeds.

3. What is the difference between front wheel and rear wheel?
Front wheel is easier to install and can keep your original speed gear of the rear wheel, it is suitable for flat road riding. Rear wheel is better for hilly road and hill climbing, and it has 6-speed gear.

4. How much is the minimum fork width for front and rear wheel?
Normally for front wheel shall be 8.5cm minimum, and for rear wheel shall be 13.5cm minimum.

5. How to Choose Battery?
We recommend big power motor to choose big capacity battery, for example: For 200W,250W and 350W motor kits, we recommend to use 10AH or 12AH Batteries, for 500W and 750W motor kits, we recommend to use 15AH,20AH Batteries. For 1000W motor kits, we recommend to use 20AH or above Batteries.

6. How to calculate torque?
Torque (in N*m) = 9.55 * Power (in watts) / Speed (in rpm)
1N*m = 141.61 oz*in = 8.85 lb*in = 10,200.0 g*cm, 1.0 hp = 745.7 watts
1.0 in = 2.54 cm, 1.0 kg = 2.205 lb = 35.27 oz, 1.0 mile = 1.61 Km, Tc=(Tf-32)*5/9.

7. How to calculate my bike spoke length?

8. How to maintain electric bike?
8 Aspects should be considered.
Step 1
Purchase a battery that runs twice the distance you plan to ride each day. Depleting your battery completely decreases its life considerably. Save some reserve power to keep it running for years.
Step 2
Charge the battery overnight. Check to see it's full before you leave. You should know exactly how much power you have each day. There is no damage to battery even under long time charging, it’s not good for bikes, please do not charge more than 24hours at a time.
Step 3
Check the tire pressure regularly. Inflate as necessary. Tires should be firm enough to hold your weight but supple enough to squeeze with your fingers. Properly inflated tires will allow you to go faster and expend less battery power.
Keep full air in your tires.
Step 4
Test the brakes and brake pads every day. Pads should be replaced about once per year--sooner if they begin to wear thin. If you travel in hilly areas, you will change your pads more often. Tighten brake cords as they begin to loosen.
Step 5
Wash your bike regularly but keep the battery dry. Make sure the gears are clean. Accumulated grease and dirt will slow you down and cost you unnecessary repairs. Extend the life of your bicycle parts!
Step 6
Apply grease or spray lubricant once per week to keep your gears running smoothly.
Step 7
Store bike in a cool, dry place when not in use.
Step 8
